Name,
I want your support in having [company name] sponsor me as a participant in this conference tailored to high potential and executive women of color. The 2018 Women’s Leadership Conference, held DATE at the Redondo Beach Hotel in Redondo Beach, California, and attracting more than 100 women representing local and national companies from across the West Coast. Attendees include mid-to senior-level managers, directors, vice presidents, executives, professionals, and entrepreneurs from various industries.
Similar to the California Women’s Conference, they have solicited success-minded professional speakers, panelists, executive coaches, business consultants, and facilitators, including HR officers, diversity officers, and “C-level” decision-makers, to lead sessions on developing and refining the skills that are essential to effective leadership.
The Bella Network, LLC is known locally in Southern California for offering events and workshops in support of career and professional development tailored to the challenges of minority professionals. Over the past three years, this conference has catalyzed support of West Coast minority women’s career development, and this year will make the fourth year.
Like our company, The Bella Network understands that effective leadership is key to motivating and retaining a highly diverse and talented workforce but that the challenges of women of color are unique and aren’t addressed in larger professional development venues. This conference will provide opportunities for building and stretching my leadership skills for challenges faced by Black and Brown professionals while encouraging networking to create mentoring, sponsoring, and on-going development connections as we share best practices.
Session topics will cover leadership competencies within the following four categories.
- Build Credibility and Emotional Intelligence
- Learn to Challenge Assumptions, Identify Trends and use the Insight to make Strategic Business Decisions
- Leverage of Best Practices and Lessons Learned to Drive Career Growth and Overcome Racial and Gender Challenges and Opportunities
- Drive for the Execution of Business Strategies and Results
I’m convinced the insights and skillsets being offered will enhance my performance and professional development. As a [title] who is deeply dedicated to our corporate [ or company] mission, I look at this conference as more than a personal opportunity; it’s a chance for our organization to further its goals and obligations towards an effective, diverse workforce. I will follow up with you by [date] to discuss the many benefits [company name] can realize through my participation.
I appreciate your consideration of funding my participation in this year’s conference.
