Ciao Bella,
Let’s talk about something many women feel – but don’t always say out loud.
- You’re showing up.
- You’re doing the work.
- You’re delivering results.
And yet… when the opportunity comes, your name isn’t called.
- Someone else gets the promotion.
- Someone else gets tapped for the project.
- Someone else is “seen” as the leader.
So what’s missing?
It’s not your capability.
It’s your positioning. There is a difference between being visible and being chosen.
Visibility means people see you working. Being chosen means decision-makers see you as the answer.
And those are not the same thing.
______
The Truth Most People Don’t Tell You
Hard work gets you noticed. Strategic visibility gets you selected.
At higher levels, decisions are not based solely on:
- Who works the hardest
- Who is the most reliable
- Who stays the latest
They are based on:
- Who is trusted in the room
- Who is perceived as ready
- Who is already being discussed when you’re not there
That last one matters more than you think.
_____
Ask Yourself Honestly
- Who is advocating for you when decisions are being made?
- Are you known for your role.. or your impact?
- Do leaders see you as replaceable – or essential?
Because if your name is not coming up in rooms you’re not in, you are not yet positioned for selection.
_____
What Needs to Shift
- From Doing –> Positioning
- Stop assuming work will speak for itself. Start framing your work in terms of impact, outcomes and business values.
- From Visibility –> Strategic Visibility
- Everyone can see you working. But do the right people see your value?
- You need visibility with:
- Decision-makers
- Influencers
- Sponsors
- From Performance –> Perception
- This is where many women struggle. You may be ready. But if you are not perceived as ready, you will be overlooked.
- Perception is shaped by:
- How you communicate
- How you show up in key moments
- How others describe you when you’re not present
_____
Here’s the Shift, Bella
You don’t need to work harder. You need to move differently.
You need to:
- Speak with clarity and authority
- Align yourself with the right people
- Be intentional about how you are seen
Because the goal is not just to be visible.
The goal is to be chosen.
______
And That’s Exactly What We’re Doing
At The Bella Network 2026 Conference: The Power Shift, we are having the real conversation about:
- Why qualified women are overlooked
- How decisions are actually made
- How to position yourself for the next level
Not theory. Not fluff. Strategy.
You are not invisible. You are just not positioned – yet.
And once that shifts? Everything changes.
With deep gratitude from one Bella to another,
Alisha White Madison
